Scuffed leather can usually be treated by using a filler cream to even out or buff the scuffed surface. Then, touch up the area with a matching dye, pigment, or polish.
Apply a small amount of polish to the scuffed area and use a soft cloth or a shoe brush to spread it evenly. Allow the polish to dry, then buff it with a clean cloth to achieve a polished finish. The polish will cover up the scuff and provide a layer of protection for the leather.
For fixing scuffs, use a colored polish. Colored polish will help cover up the scuff and make it less visible.
Step By Step: How to Fix Light Scuffs on Leather Boots and Shoes Step 1: Clean the surface. Step 2: Heat the scuffed area lightly with a hair dryer. Step 3: Massage the scuffed area with a clean cloth or towel. Step 4: If the scuff is still visible, apply petroleum jelly to the surface of your shoe.
Minor scuffing or scratching can normally be fixed with a few extra coats of Saphir Cream Polish. However, sometimes shoe polish is not enough to repair or conceal deep gouges or scratches.
When I get toe scuffs like these on my dress shoes I just put some color matched shoe polish on them and theyre gone.
A pencil eraser works great for simple scuffs because the eraser itself is soft enough that it wont damage the leather. Apply moderate pressure and work the eraser across the scuff to remove the added material.
