Device Capture Not Functioning Event Ratio The fraction of a call during which the capture device did not function properly. A capture device, such as a microphone or webcam, transmits audio.
Jitter is measured in milliseconds (ms), and ideally, an acceptable jitter level should stay below 30 ms. Anything higher than 30, and you may start to see issues with audio or video quality. As a rule, packet loss should stay under 1%, and network latency shouldnt exceed 150 ms.
It is calculated by dividing the number of out-of-order packets by the total packet count. A higher disorder ratio indicates a higher level of packet reordering. Reordered Packets Rate: This metric represents the rate at which packets arrive out of order.
Generally, you want the maximum audio jitter to be below 20ms but periodic spikes in the 20ms-30ms with average jitter in the single digits is acceptable.
Ratio Concealed Sample Average A high percentage means that many audio samples had to be concealed because of the packet loss. It indicates poor audio quality, which the user experiences as distorted or lost audio. Usually, it is best to keep the ratio around or below 2%.
Latency Requirements for Screen Sharing: When screen sharing is enabled in Microsoft Teams, the recommended latency is less than 100 milliseconds (ms) one way (total round trip should be less than 200 ms).
When the average jitter of a stream exceeds 30 milliseconds, the audio is considered to be of low quality Media Quality and Network Connectivity Performance - Skype for Business Online | Microsoft Docs. Jitters may be controlled by using a high-speed internet connection, proper setups, and high-quality hardware.
Jitter is typically measured in milliseconds (ms). Generally, a delay of around 30 ms or more can result in distortion and disruptions during a call. For smooth video streaming, keeping it below 30 ms is recommended. If the receiving jitter exceeds this threshold, it can lead to packet loss and audio quality issues.
