Table.* is a field level ACL which gives Access to all field on that table. Table.none is a row level ACL which allows you to access records. Both are table level ACL, But the thing is * is a wild card entry.
1. Row level ACL or table level ACL. 2. Column level ACL or field level ACL.
When an unauthenticated user attempts to access a protected resource, the evaluation is done in the following way. If the ACL does not contain an entry for Unauthenticated, then access is denied. If the ACL does not contain an entry for Any-other, then access is denied.
Processing Order: The ACL rules are checked in a sequence where table-level (general) permissions are assessed first, followed by field-level (specific) permissions. This is the operational or technical order of processing.
Row level acl (Table Level) satisfied first before the execution of field level acl. For e.g you have to provide specific role user to read permission to all the fields of the table, Then first you have to provide him row level access means same role permission to table.
none is a row level ACL which allows you to access records. - Table. * is a field level ACL which gives Access to all field on the table. Result : Both ITILADMIN and ITIL users will be able to view all records because they have read access to all records with no field level restrictions.
For table. none means that you are applying the ACL at the table level. For table. *, means that you are applying this for all rows/fields on that table which dont have their own specific table.
--None--: Grant access to records and all fields in the records. *: Grant access to all fields where there is no field-specific Access Control.
