Bcc sends a copy of your email to anyone in the bcc field but hides their email address from all other recipients. Bcc recipients wont be able to use the reply-all function. No one who receives the email can see bcc recipients, and bcc recipients cant see each other either.
Using the BCC Field This is the simplest way to send the same email to multiple recipients without them seeing each others email addresses. You compose a single email, add recipients to the BCC (Blind Carbon Copy) field, and send it.
Bcc, or blind carbon copy functions the same as Cc, with one difference: Bcc-ed addresses are hidden from all recipients. Both features are available in Gmail and Outlook.
To keep the names and e-mail addresses of people included on a personal distribution list private, or hidden, use the Bcc field.
Addresses that are Cc -ed are visible to all recipients. Bcc, or blind carbon copy functions the same as Cc, with one difference: Bcc-ed addresses are hidden from all recipients. Both features are available in Gmail and Outlook.
In an open message, add your e-mail address in the To box. In the Bcc box, add the distribution list. Type your message and click Send.
When you open a new blank email in Outlook, click on the Options tab. From there, youll want to select the Bcc field in the message header. This is your blind carbon copy option, meaning that your email recipients will not see other names on the list.
Within classic Outlook, create a new email message or reply to or forward an existing message. If the message youre composing opens in a new window, select Options Bcc. In the Bcc box, add recipients, compose the message, and choose Send when done.
