Oh welcome to this video that looks at what an image actually is on a computer now if you think back to ancient times people used to make images using little colored stone blocks and they would arrange those blocks in an order and the way they ordered them would create an image now modern times nothing really has changed if you look very closely at your monitor youamp;#39;ll see that the screen is made up of tiny little squares these squares are called pixels now the number of pixels you have on the screen is called your resolution Iamp;#39;m going to show you how you can make a simple picture using nothing but a spreadsheet so Iamp;#39;m going to create a Google spreadsheet and Iamp;#39;ve got one here if you donamp;#39;t know how to do that you just go to your Google Drive okay if you go to your Google Drive go to create and then go to spreadsheet here is my spreadsheet now Iamp;#39;ve got this picture of a space invaded here which Iamp;#39;ve used by coloring in cells now Ia

Binary images are images whose pixels have only two possible intensity values. They are normally displayed as black and white. Numerically, the two values are often 0 for black, and either 1 or 255 for white.
Bitmap images are organised as a grid of coloured squares called pixels. Each different colour in the image is stored as a binary number. When zooming in or enlarging a bitmap image, the pixels are stretched and made into larger blocks. The quality of bitmap images reduces as they are enlarged.
Binary Submenu. This submenu contains commands that create or process binary (black and white) images. They assume that objects are black and background is white unless Black Background is checked in the ProcessBinaryOptions dialog box.
In computer applications, where binary numbers are represented by only two symbols or digits, i.e. 0 (zero) and 1(one). The binary numbers here are expressed in the base-2 numeral system. For example, (101)2 is a binary number. Each digit in this system is said to be a bit.
Make binary If the ImageAdjustThreshold tool is active, a dialog will pop up that lets you specify which pixels are set to the background color and which to the foreground color and whether the background is black and the foreground is white.
Each pixel in an image is made up of binary numbers. If we say that 1 is black (or on) and 0 is white (or off), then a simple black and white picture can be created using binary. To create the picture, a grid can be set out and the squares coloured (1 black and 0 white).
In order for the computer to store the image, each pixel is represented by a binary value. We call this representation of colours a bit-plane. Each bit doubles the number of available colours i.e. 1-bit would give us 2 colours, 2-bits would give us 4 colours and 3-bits would give us 8 colours etc.
Approach: Read the image from the location. As a colored image has RGB layers in it and is more complex, convert it to its Grayscale form first. Set up a Threshold mark, pixels above the given mark will turn white, and below the mark will turn black.
