hey guys welcome back to my channel itamp;#39;s two minute tuesday and this weekamp;#39;s topic is about why i have a red dot on my gun and the pros and cons that i went through before i made that decision having an optic on your defensive gun is becoming increasingly more popular but thereamp;#39;s still some pros and cons that youamp;#39;re going to want to consider before jumping on that train i would say one of the biggest cons is the price just depending on what your budget is and what optic you wind up going with but for a good optic youamp;#39;re going to run around 300 and up plus whatever it costs to have your slide milled or to purchase an mos slide and a plate to put between your optic and the slide that part can be a little bit of a process and deciding which way you want to go with that is entirely up to you but price is definitely something to consider the other thing to consider is that itamp;#39;s not necessarily going to come naturally to you right out of the gat

They hit a home run when they released the Defender-CCW, a compact reflex sight that uses the RMSc footprint.
For starters, the Defender-ST uses the DeltaPoint Pro mounting footprint instead of the Shield RMSc footprint. That makes it compatible with a wide range of full-size pistols like the Springfield Armory Echelon I tested it with, as well as popular pistols like the Glock 17 Gen5 MOS.
The CCW uses a Shield RMS footprint, which is one of the most common for compact and subcompact pistols.
The Hellcat Pro OSP fits optics with the micro RMSc footprint. Direct fit options include the Sig Romeo Zero, Vortex Defender, Shield RMSc, Viridian RFX-11 and more.
Conclusion. The battle between the Vortex Defender-CCW and the Trijicon RMR is a close one, with each red dot sight having its own set of strengths. The Defender-CCW offers great value and performance, especially for those who are cost-conscious but still demand quality.
At the same time, a larger window means the red dot is larger and may be harder to conceal depending on how what concealed carry position you use. Full-size handguns will naturally be able to support a larger window versus a compact handgun. I find a window of at least 0.6 by 0.9 is good for concealed carry.
