How to add a layer mask to a layer. Select it: Select your layer or group in the Layers panel. Reveal it: For a revealing mask, click the Add Layer Mask button in the bottom of the Layers panel. Show / Hide Layers Hold down Alt (Win) / Option (Mac) and click on the Layer Visibility icon to temporarily hide all the other layers. To turn all the layers back on again, hold down Alt (Win) / Option (Mac) and click again on the same Layer Visibility icon.
You can quickly get your layer tab back using the shortcut key F7. It will show and/or hide the Layers panel automatically.
To see just one particular layer (and hide all the rest), press-and-hold the Option (PC: Alt) key, and then click on the layers Eye icon. All the other layers will now be hidden, and just that one layer will remain visible. To bring em all back, Option-click on that Eye icon again.
In the Layers panel, just click on the little Eye icon to the left of the layers thumbnail and it hides that layer from view. To see it again, click where the Eye icon used to be. To see just one particular layer (and hide all the rest), press-and-hold the Option (PC: Alt) key, and then click on the layers Eye icon.
