When applying undereye concealer, skip the brush, applicator and sponge; try using your fingertips instead. The warmth can help the makeup melt into the undereye area, giving you a flawless finish.
Scibelli says that a great way to figure out your undertone is to try a product along your jawline or inner wrist. Also, make sure to test concealer in natural lighting when possible, as artificial lighting can yield a wrong shade.
Instead, it helps to tap gently with a soft stippling motion. And this goes for whether you use a brush, a sponge, or even your finger a gentle dabbing motion will allow your concealer to blend into your skin seamlessly. Then, for even more staying power, dab a powder over top.
Standard spots to contour include the sides of your nose, hollows of your cheeks, jawline, and temples. You can also contour other areas, depending on the effect you want. If you want fuller-looking lips, for example, you can contour the bottom of your lower lip.
Starting at the ear and moving downwards, use your concealer to trace underneath the hollows of the cheeks where you would apply your bronzer or cream contour. Take the product towards the mouth, then softly curve to follow the apples of the cheek to create an upward-facing angle towards the nose.
Where to Apply Concealer Above Below the Brow. Blend a thin line of concealer on top of and underneath the brows to make eyebrows pop and open up the eyes. The Inner Corners and Under the Eyes. Across the Bridge and Down the Center of the Nose. Around the Mouth. Center of the Chin. Around Each Nostril.
Apply stripes of it down the sides of your nose, below your cheekbones, on your temples and along your jawline, then blend it out with a makeup sponge.
But, what is concealer anyway? Concealer is similar to foundation except its generally thicker and hides dark circles, age spots, blemishes and more by hiding pigments and blending these imperfections into the skin. You should always apply concealer on top of your foundation so it doesnt smudge.
