Hidden indexes are not visible to the query planner and cannot be used to support a query. By hiding an index from the planner, users can evaluate the potential impact of dropping an index without actually dropping the index. Hidden Indexes - MongoDB Manual v4.4 MongoDB Index Properties MongoDB Index Properties
To show (or hide) all embedded fields in a MongoDB collection, right-click on any field and select Show All Embedded Fields or Hide All Embedded Fields. View MongoDB Data | Table View - Studio 3T Studio 3T knowledge-base articles table-v Studio 3T knowledge-base articles table-v
You can use the asc (ascending) and desc (descending) keywords to assign a sort order to each column in an index. By default, sort order is ascending. Creating indexes so that columns are in the same order specified in the order by clauses of queries eliminates sorting the columns during query processing.
Indexes can be created as invisible by using the INVISIBLE keyword, and their visibility can be toggled using the ALTER INDEX command.
To hide an existing index, you can use the collMod command or mongosh helper db. collection. hideIndex() . The index option hidden is only returned if the value is true .
To drop a single index, specify either the index name, the index specification document (unless the index is a text index), or an array of the index name. To drop a text index, specify the index name or an array of the index name instead of the index specification document. db.collection.dropIndexes() - MongoDB Manual v7.0 MongoDB manual reference method MongoDB manual reference method
You can use the ASC and DESC keywords to specify ascending (smallest value first) or descending (largest value first) order. The default order is ascending. For DATE and DATETIME data types, smallest means earliest in time and largest means latest in time.
ASC | DESC Specifies that the values in the specified column should be sorted in ascending or descending order. ASC sorts from the lowest value to highest value. DESC sorts from highest value to lowest value. ASC is the default sort order.
In general, ASC or DESC specifiers are used with ORDER BY clauses to specify whether index values are stored in ascending or descending order. It is also worth mentioning that NULLS FIRST is used by default if it has not been specified in the command.
Answer: In general terms, Ascending means smallest to largest, 0 to 9, and/or A to Z and Descending means largest to smallest, 9 to 0, and/or Z to A. Ascending order means the smallest or first or earliest in the order will appear at the top of the list: For numbers or amounts, the sort is smallest to largest.
