One of the questions I hear a lot about LibreOffice is how to change the default font. Today Iamp;#39;m gonna show you how you can do that in both Libreoffice Writer and LibreOffice Calc. Now just for reference, the version of LibreOffice that Iamp;#39;m using is the latest at the time of this recording which is version 4.3.1.2. Now in Writer there is actually two methods of changing the default font, and so Iamp;#39;m going to show you both of them. The first and simplest method is to click on Tools, click on Options, expand LibreOffice Writer, click on Basic Fonts, and then change the default setting right here. So you can select a font and also select a size. In this case Iamp;#39;m just gonna choose something large so we can recognize it. We can see the font has changed. And so weamp;#39;ll close LibreOffice Writer and weamp;#39;ll go back in to see if it retains that. And we can see that it does. Why Hide Fonts is Not Perfect. ing to Microsoft documentation, the Hide fonts function will remove a typeface from application font menus. The font will still be available for drawing text, it just hidden from the menus. This will work for many, but not all, applications.
