The font file might be in a place on the system that is hidden to Design Print. On your Mac look in the Library Fonts file, which can be in your User, Local, Network or System file, depending on where the access is.
To smooth the fonts on your screen: Open System Preferences and click Appearance. To turn on font smoothing in Mac OS X v10. 6 or later, select Use LCD font smoothing when available. If you plan to use small font sizes in your document, choose a point size from the Turn off text smoothing for font sizes pop-up menu.
In the Font Book app on your Mac, select one or more fonts, or a font collection. Choose Edit Deactivate, then click Deactivate Font (or Deactivate Fonts) to confirm. Deactivated fonts are dimmed in the list of fonts.
