all right so this is in response to a comment I received on the editing the surface boundary and surface style in civil 3d video that I did and they were just wanting to know how you can trim out contour lines and so I assume what he was talking about by this he referenced either a river going through your property or a building and so I did here was draw a rectangle and so you can draw a polyline in here as well I mean thatamp;#39;s all that this is but itamp;#39;s just a 50 foot wide by 100 foot long building and so if I donamp;#39;t want my contour lines to go through that then after I draw it this is what I do come over to my tool space make sure Iamp;#39;m on my prospector tab and I find whatever surface I happen to be working on expand that out so this is my existing ground surface expand out my definition and Iamp;#39;m gonna add a boundary so Iamp;#39;ll just right-click on boundaries Iamp;#39;ll click on add Iamp;#39;ll give this a name and for what weamp;#39;re doing
