On July 9, 2013, Public Act 98-63, the Firearm Concealed Carry Act became state law (430 ILCS 66). This law requires an Illinois Concealed Carry License to carry a concealed firearm in Illinois.
Illinois does not recognize concealed carry licenses from other states. However, a resident from another state who has a valid concealed carry license from their home state may carry a concealed firearm within a vehicle while traveling through Illinois.
How long does it take to get a Concealed Carry permit? A. Once you complete the class, and If you submit your fingerprints with your application, the state of IL has 90 days to issue the permit. If you do not submit fingerprints the state has 120 days to issue the permit.

What is the cost for an Illinois Concealed Carry License? The fees are (non-refundable per 430 ILCS 66/60) $150 for Illinois residents and $300 for out-of-state residents. The ISP uses Illinois ePay. Illinois ePay applies a 2.25% service fee, or a minimum of $1.00 for credit/debit cards.
On average, the process can take several months. Applicants must complete a 16-hour training course, which covers firearm safety, legal aspects, and practical shooting exercises. Following this, they submit their application to the Illinois State Police (ISP).
Yes. Missouri is a permitless carry state. A person without a permit only commits the offense of unlawful use of weapons, if he or she knowingly carries a concealed weapon into any area where firearms are restricted per state or Federal law.
