Select the text you want to redact and click the Insert menu. Then, click Comment. A comment box will appear, and you can enter your redacted text. The text will be hidden, but anyone can view the comment by clicking on the Insert menu.
Use collapsible headings in your Google Doc On your computer, open a Google Doc thats in pageless mode. Hover over the heading you want to expand or collapse. To the left of the heading, click Expand heading or Collapse heading .
This is a new feature in Docs, and its not possible at this time to hide it.
How to Hide Text in Google Docs Select the text you want to hide. Go to the Format menu and choose Text or simply right-click on the selected text. Select Text color and choose the same color as the documents background.
On the sheet tab, tap the Down arrow. . Tap Hide. This option wont show if your spreadsheet doesnt contain two or more sheets.
The first is to use the built-in find and replace feature. Just go to the Edit menu and click Find and Replace. Then, enter the text you want to redact in the Find field and leave the Replace field blank. Click Replace all, and the text will be hidden.
Work with a document outline Open a document in the Google Docs app. To open the outline, tap More . Tap Document outline. The outline will open on the bottom. To close, go to the left side of Document outline and tap Close document outline .
When viewing or editing a Google Doc, non-printing characters such as line breaks, section breaks, tabs, and spaces are not visible. To see the hidden characters in a Google Docs, Click somewhere in the Doc. Click View. Click Show non-printing characters.
