Choose the text you want to redact and click the Format menu. Then, click Text and Strikethrough. The text will be hidden, but it will still be visible if someone clicks on the Format menu.
Alternatively, press Ctrl + Shift + P (PC) or Cmd + Shift + P (Mac) to instantly show hidden paragraph markers, line breaks, section breaks, column breaks, tabs, and spaces. To hide these characters again, return to View and select Show non-printing characters or press the keyboard shortcut again.
If you hide your view history You wont be seen in Activity dashboard for anybodys files. You can turn on your view history again, and your previously recorded views will appear again. Your views while your view history is turned off will never show.
You can structure your Google Doc with the document outline feature. The outline detects and lists headings from your text to help organize your document. In the outline, you can also add a summary for your document. You can also show or hide rulers and non-printing characters to help format your document.
Use collapsible headings in your Google Doc On your computer, open a Google Doc thats in pageless mode. Hover over the heading you want to expand or collapse. To the left of the heading, click Expand heading or Collapse heading .
How to Hide Text in Google Docs Select the text you want to hide. Go to the Format menu and choose Text or simply right-click on the selected text. Select Text color and choose the same color as the documents background.
Hide comments: Hides all comments and closes any open comments panel. Minimize comments: Reduces comments to icons in Docs and Sheets, which you can hover over to preview and click to show more. Expand comments: Shows full comments and replies, which you can click to reply or add others.
Select the text you want to redact and click the Insert menu. Then, click Comment. A comment box will appear, and you can enter your redacted text. The text will be hidden, but anyone can view the comment by clicking on the Insert menu.
