By applying the appearance: none; style, we can effectively disable the arrows from the number input.
Today, the caret is the go-to icon for any up and down motionlike swipe-ups and ion menus (a.k.a. dropdowns), where it means the same thing it always has: insert something here. So its not just an arrow.
Using display CSS The easiest method of hiding an element is to remove it entirely. The display:none property does just that. It removes whatever element you attach it to completely. That piece of the page will simply not render anymore, and the space it takes up on the page will be removed and the layout readjusted.
To hide the arrow, we need to add none as the value to the list-style-type attribute. I will also create space for the custom arrow that we are going to be adding by adding extra CSS attributes. This is the hidden content, will only show when the summary is clicked.
By default, the HTML details tag has an arrow marker just before the summary text. This is to let the user know they can click on it to display the collapsed content. Depending on your page design you might want to remove this arrow.
Using Inputmode Attribute: Using inputmode=numeric attribute you can find an input box without an arrow. The older browsers might not support this feature for example Internet Explorer and Safari but most of modern browsers like Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Opera support this attribute.
The element supports the list-style shorthand property and its longhand properties, such as list-style-type , to change the disclosure triangle to whatever you choose (usually with list-style-image ). For example, we can remove the disclosure widget icon by setting list-style: none .
The dropdown arrow icon in input can be hidden by setting the CSS appearance: none. The CSS appearance property allows to suppress the native appearance of an element (which may vary with operating system), so that CSS can be used to restyle it.
