right now those with permits on concealed carry them donamp;#39;t see your campuses since a band was lifted in 2012 following a lawsuit but a group of Cu students pushing to bring back the ban and our Rob Harris has more from students who spoke before the sea Board of Regents today in hopes of getting results ever since the King Super shooting in Boulder I think that that fear is heightened a lot CU students I talked to say they were surprised when they learned the concealed carry was allowed at their school and with mass shootings in Colorado Springs and in Boulder and more they feel uneasy about it a lot of gun violence and violence in general has happened to Boulder the city itself so having a campus thatamp;#39;s right on the heart of Boulder it could definitely seep into there I believe a ban on all weapons including concealed carry was in place at CU starting in 1974 but in 2012 a group of students sued the school and ever since Concealed Carry has been allowed on campuses but

Under the law, and with a few exceptions, lawful weapons carriers may carry concealed handguns in public university classes if they are conducted in buildings and facilities not otherwise exempt from the law. Lawful weapons carriers may not carry handguns to classes in which high school students are enrolled.
In practical terms, the removal of the affirmative defense by this policy means that, unless another exception applies, it is unlawful to possess or use a firearm on the grounds controlled by the university, even if you have a concealed carry permit.
