How to encrypt PDF for email using a PDF editor. Open the PDF you want to encrypt in the editor. On the top toolbar, click Tools Protect Encrypt Encrypt with Password. Check the box next to Require a password to open the document. Choose a password in the text block.
Select a PDF to reduce its file size fast. Your file will be securely handled by docHub servers and deleted unless you sign in to save it.
How to password protect a PDF on Windows. Windows users have many ways to encrypt or password protect PDFs for free. If your computer comes with a Microsoft Office license, you can do it in two steps. First, open the document, click on the Info tab, Protect Document, and then Encrypt with Password.
Add a password to docHub (pdf) Open the PDF and choose Tools Protect Encrypt Encrypt with Password. If you receive a prompt, click Yes to change the security. Select Require a Password to Open the Document, then type the password in the corresponding field.
To get started securing your file on the local computer: Open a Word document via Microsoft Word. Click File and choose Save As. Select Browse where the PDF will be saved. Pick PDF (*.pdf) from the Save as type dropdown. Hit the Option button. Enable the Encrypt the document with a password option then click OK.
Double-click on your PDF doc to open in the Preview app. Click File Save. Check the encrypt box enter your password click save.
Zipped folder Select Send to, then Zip folder (compressed). Follow the prompts to name and save the folder. Double-click the zipped file, then select File and Add Password. Fill out the requested information, then click Apply.
To password-protect your PDF documents, you will need docHub Reader Pro or docHub. The free version of docHub Reader does not have the necessary features to encrypt a PDF document.
