All Canadians are required to report Airbnb income to the CRA. Accommodation sharing income, must be reported for tax purposes. In Canada, most Airbnb income qualifies as rental income.
On Form T776, list the addresses of your rental property and the number of units you rented. Report the rental income in the Income section of Form T776 in the following order: Line 8141 Gross rents. Line 8230 Other income.Part 3 Income cash or cheques. kind (goods or commodities instead of cash) services.
Who is the T776 tax form designed for? This form, Statement of Real Estate Rentals, is where you can declare income and expenses related to rental income. It usually represents income from property, where you rent space and provide basic services only (heat, light, parking, and laundry facilities).
