Using vinegar in the wash shouldnt be an everyday thing for every load. Using it daily can damage the washing machine, especially the rubber parts, and repeated use could damage delicate fabrics. Limit use to an as-needed basis, after clothes have dulled or as residue begins to build up.
If you dont have white vinegar on hand and are still wondering how to disinfect laundry without bleach, try adding one cup of 3% hydrogen peroxide to your wash. Peroxide has natural bleaching properties, so be sure to spot-test first and avoid pouring directly on colored clothes.
Next, try a solution of white vinegar, Dawn dish soap, and water in a spray bottle. Mix 1/4 cup of white vinegar, 1 tablespoon of Dawn dish soap, and fill with water. Spray the solution liberally on the stain and let it soak for 5-10 minutes. Then, blot the stain with a clean, dry towel until it is removed.
Mix 1/4 cup of white vinegar, 1 tbsp. of dish soap, and water in a spray bottle. Spray the area liberally and let soak for 5-10 minutes and then blot again with a clean, dry towel until stain is removed.
Both vinegar and hydrogen peroxide can be effective for removing stains, but their effectiveness depends on the type of stain. Vinegar works well for stains caused by substances like coffee, tea, or juice, while hydrogen peroxide is more suitable for removing sweat, grass, and blood stains.
