How to remove comments using the Inspect Document tool Go to the File menu in the toolbar. Select Info Check for Issues Inspect Document. In the list that appears, check the Comments, Revisions, and Versions option. Click on Inspect Remove All.
Steps Open the Word document you want to edit. Click on the Home tab in the ribbon at the top of the screen. Look for the Clear All Formatting button (in the Font section) and click on it. The formatting will be removed from the selected text, and it will be returned to its default style.

When you select a comment, a border appears around it and its position is closer to the page. This contextual view hides all resolved comments so you can focus on active comments. To view all comments, including all resolved comments, open the Comments pane by clicking Comments in the ribbon.
Reply to or resolve a comment Select a comment. Select Reply. Type what you want. Click elsewhere in the document when you are done. Or, select Resolve to show the comment has been completed.
