An extended ACL is a type of access control list that provides detailed control over traffic flows on a network. An extended ACL can be used to filter traffic by source IP address, destination IP address, port number, and protocol.
A standard ACL allows or denies traffic access based on the source IP address, while an extended access control list can filter packets with a higher degree of specification. It can determine the types of traffic it allows or blocks beyond just the IP address to include TCP, ICMP, and UDP, for example.
A named, standard ACL is identified by an alphanumeric string of up to 64 characters and is created by entering the Named ACL ( nacl ) context. A numbered, standard ACL is identified by a number in the range of 1 - 99 and is created without having to leave the global config context.
Syntax: To find the sequence number of the ACE you want to delete, use show run or show access-list name-str |1-99|100-199 to view the ACL. Use ip access-list to enter the Named-ACL ( nacl ) context of the ACE. In the Named-ACL context, type no and enter the sequence number of the ACE you want to delete.
So in order to remove ACLs just run setfacl -b -R on the directory, and chmod g=rwx afterwards. (Fixing group permissions might be needed, because currently your changes actually went to changing the ACL mask instead.)
setfacl sets (replaces), modifies, or removes the access control list (ACL) to regular files and directories. It also updates and deletes ACL entries for each file and directory that was specified by path. If path was not specified, then file and directory names are read from standard input (stdin).
What are the types of ACL tears? Grade 1 (least severe ACL injury). You stretched but didnt quite tear the ACL. Grade 2 (partial tear). You stretched the ACL, making it loose. Grade 3 (most severe ACL injury). A complete or near complete tear the ligament has split into 2 pieces.
A named, standard ACL is identified by an alphanumeric string of up to 64 characters and is created by entering the Named ACL ( nacl ) context. A numbered, standard ACL is identified by a number in the range of 1-99 and is created without having to leave the global config context.
