to do is going to show you how to take an ami and attach that new ami to the auto scaling grow so any new machine that is coming up as part of auto scaling will have the changes that you have on your machine first of all log in to Amazon console look for ec2 you should have an auto scaling group already existing for that in my case it is a k app go to edit select that make sure thatamp;#39;s the only one selected go to edit right and weamp;#39;re going to do a suspend processes edition here so if you see the suspend processes there is nothing thatamp;#39;s how thatamp;#39;s how itamp;#39;s supposed to be with the default auto scaling group when it is in an active so we are going to disable the auto scaling group so when we are taking an ami and the machine will get rebooted it will not delete that machine or it will not terminate it or it will not relaunch the new machine getting dispersed because itamp;#39;s this is a part of maintenance right so go to suspend processes launch w

When you deregister the AMI, it is simply deleted. However, all the snapshots that were attached to the AMI remain and need to be deleted manually.
To manually delete a recovery point using the console, complete the following steps: Open the AWS Backup console. In the navigation pane, choose Backup vaults. Select the backup vault that contains the Amazon EC2 backups. Then, choose the AMI you want to delete. Choose Actions, and then choose Delete.
To view the progress of your AMI creation, complete the following steps: Open the Amazon EC2 console. Navigate to the Snapshot section and filter snapshots by Description. Make sure to use the AMI ID.
It may take a few minutes for the AMI to be created. After it is created, it will appear in the AMIs view in AWS Explorer. To display this view, double-click the Amazon EC2 | AMIs node in AWS Explorer. To see your AMIs, from the Viewing drop-down list, choose Owned By Me.
When you delete or deregister an Amazon EBS-backed AMI, any snapshots created for the volume of the instance during the AMI creation process are retained. If you accidentally delete the AMI, then you can launch an identical AMI using one of the retained snapshots.
Resolution. If you know the account IDs of the AWS accounts that you want to share the AMI with, follow the instructions at Share an AMI with specific AWS accounts. To copy the shared AMI, see Cross-account copying. Note: Sharing an AMI from different Regions isnt available.
It isnt possible to restore or recover a deleted or deregistered AMI. However, you can create a new, identical AMI using one of the following: Amazon Elastic Block Store (Amazon EBS) snapshots that were created as backups.
Let us run through the process of creating an image (AMI -- Amazon Machine Image) via the AWS Console: The Delete on Termination flag controls the deletion of the EBS volume during termination of Spot Instances: If the flag is marked, the EBS volume is deleted and if it is unmarked, the EBS volume is not deleted.
