Wet a cotton ball or washcloth with isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol or surgical spirit) and scrub the ink off your skin. Rubbing alcohol is often your best bet for removing the oil-based ink found in most pens. It dissolves oils, allowing you to wipe the ink off your skin.
Permanent ink, often found in markers and pens, can be trickier to remove. Rubbing alcohol is your go-to solution: Get Your Supplies: Youll need rubbing alcohol (isopropyl alcohol), cotton balls or swabs, and a clean cloth. Apply Alcohol: Dampen a cotton ball or swab with rubbing alcohol.
Apply a small amount of alcohol-based product to a cotton ball or pad. Gently dab the ink-stained skin with the cotton ball. Continue dabbing until the ink transfers from your skin onto the cotton ball. Clean the area with water and mild soap to remove any residue.
Since a very small amount of ink is absorbed through the skin, it is generally safe to draw on it. Unless the person has a sensitivity to the particular ink, they will probably not have any health problems.
Wet a cotton ball or washcloth with isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol or surgical spirit) and scrub the ink off your skin. Rubbing alcohol is often your best bet for removing the oil-based ink found in most pens.
If it is on your skin or in a wound, you can initially try washing it with soap and water. If this is ineffective, you can gently scrub with rubbing alcohol (that is, isopropyl alcohol). If you get ink in your eye, rinse with water for 15 minutes. Do not use rubbing alcohol in your eyes.
For stubborn permanent ink stains, apply a small amount of rubbing alcohol or acetone to a cotton ball or swab. Gently rub the stain until it fades. Rinse your skin thoroughly with warm water, wash with soap, and pat dry. If any residual stain remains, create a paste using baking soda and water.
Ink is minimally toxic and can cause a mild upset stomach or stained skin/tongue if ingested. Avoid harsh scrubbing or chemical cleaners on the skin. Any stains should wear off in several days. Computer printer cartridges and stamp-pad inks usually contain a larger amount of ink and/or additional ingredients.
