Use Rubbing Alcohol The experts at GE recommend the same rubbing alcohol used to remove ink stains from fabric and leather to remove ink from the dryer drum. Use an old white towel or sponge dampened with alcohol to remove the ink. It may take several applications and some elbow grease to remove all the ink.
The Magic Eraser or a related melamine sponge is a terrific multi-purpose tool that can be a true asset in the removal of stains including ink stains in your dryer. Dampen the sponge with warm water, squeeze out the excess fluid, then slowly begin to scrub the stained area gently.
Rubbing alcohol is often an effective way to remove ink from both the dryers drum and the paddles, which are the mechanisms that move your laundry around. Gently wipe the affected areas of the dryer with a sponge that has been saturated with rubbing alcohol.
Removing pen, ballpoint or felt-tip ink stains from material like canvas and cotton is possible even after drying. With hand sanitizer and fabric treatment, you can remove stubborn stains.
Clean With Vinegar and Hot Water Using a mixture of equal parts vinegar and warm water, spray the inside of your dryer and allow it to sit for about a minute. Scrub the stains using a damp towel. It may take several minutes and some elbow grease, but the stains should start to disappear.
Apply rubbing alcohol, hair spray, or hand sanitizer to dilute the stain, making it easier to remove during the wash. These solvents help tackle most types of ink stains but remember to test the stained garment for colorfastness first as they can also attack fabric dyes and cause further damage.
Make sure you clean your dryer very well with fresh water after using bleach. You dont want to put clean clothes in and risk getting bleach stains on your clothes. You can also try a product like Goo Gone. Its critical to make sure that any chemical cleaner you use is inflammable.
To clean the dryer drum: Make a paste with powdered laundry detergent and very warm water. Apply the paste to a soft cloth or apply a liquid, nonflammable household cleaner to the stained area. Rub with the soft cloth until all excess dye and stains are removed. Thoroughly wipe the drum with a damp cloth.
