How to clear up heading in text

The heading styles in Word have a predefined spacing between the number and the heading text. This usually works well for the default font sizes, but as soon as we increase the font size, the gap will get larger at some point and maybe we dont want it quite that large. To change that space between the number and the title we have to find the corresponding heading style in the styles gallery, do a right-click on it and select Modify. In the bottom left of this window, we click on Format and then on Paragraph. And the Hanging Indent value is now the value that we have to adapt. As you can see, it is currently set to 1.27cm but since the numbers are so wide that the heading text cannot possible start at 1.27cm, it simply jumps to a further indented position. However, if we change the hanging indent value to 1.8cm for example, then the heading text has enough space to start at that position. And thats how you edit the space after a heading number in

Remove all headers and footers Go to Insert Header or Footer, and then select Remove Header or Remove Footer. If your document has more than one section, repeat this process for each section.
Change the text to or from a heading or normal text using the Format menu On your computer, open a document in Google Docs. Select the text you want to change. Click Format. Select Paragraph styles. Click a text style: Normal text, Heading 1-6. Click Apply text style.
Tip: You can change the font and formatting of a heading style. Just select the heading text you want to customize, modify its styles the way you want, and then on the Home tab, in the Styles group, right-click the heading style that you customized and click Update Heading to Match Selection.

Restore a default style On your computer, open a document in Google Docs. Restore original to the Google style: Click Format. Select Paragraph styles, then select Options. Finally, choose Reset styles.
Select all the text in the document to unhighlight You can also press Ctrl + A on your keyboard if you have the shortcut enabled. After selecting all the text in the document, you can select the highlighter tool and click No color to remove the highlighting.
To undo superscript or subscript formatting, select your text and press Ctrl+Spacebar.
