Beginning with the finest sandpaper start to buff the engraved area, stopping to wash and buff dry at regular intervals and increasing the grit until the engraving is gone. If even the most coarse grit sandpaper is not removing the engraving, use a metal file.
For this method, you will need a paper towel and white vinegar. To clean your laser engraved wood, dab your paper towel in vinegar (you can also use a soft piece of cloth) and then use it to wipe off the residue on your wood. Simply repeat the process until you are satisfied with the result.
I like to do things the easiest and fastest way - and Ive found that to be using a magic eraser. Using the magic eraser with just a bit of water on it, its really fast and easy to rub off all the soot. After I go over it with the Magic Eraser, I use a dry paper towel and remove any remaining water or smudges.
Simply apply white vinegar to a clean piece of cloth and wipe off the surface of your work. You dont want to leave it to soak or drench the wood, so be sure not to use too much and dry the surface afterward if necessary.

Simply wipe off with a moistened cloth, followed by a wipe with a clean, dry cloth. Nano sponges (often referred to as dirt erasers) or erasers can also be very helpful when removing resistant residue.
