Go to the Gmail inbox search bar and type unread. Now click the checkbox at the top left to select all the unread emails. Click on the trash icon to delete these emails.
Common reasons for an overloaded mailbox include the obvious which is many, many emails. But your storage space can take quite a hit with messages that include large attachments, excessive spam or junk emails, and subscriptions like newsletters.
Your checklist for emptying your inbox: Sort emails quickly using inbox search filters. Save important addresses and attachments. Unsubscribe from newsletters. Filter and block spam emails. Use email rules to sort incoming mail. Empty email folders automatically. Set up Cloud folders to organize files.
Type is:unread in the search bar and hit Enter . Click the top checkbox. Click the Select all messages that match this search option. Click the Trash bin icon to delete all unread Gmail emails that you no longer need.
One easy way to get this done is to sort your email inbox by sender. Simply delete social media messages, retail ads, past event reminders, delivery confirmations, out-of-date newsletters, etc. Then sort again by subject line and do the same thing.

Resolution Check the box at the top in the menu bar to select all emails on that page. Click Select all [NUMBER] conversations in [LOCATION] under the box you just checked. Click the trash can icon at the top. You may be asked to Confirm Bulk Action. Click OK.
