Multiple Single-Line Comments: You can simply use the hash symbol (#) at the beginning of each line you want to comment out. # This is a multi-line comment # using multiple single-line comments. # Each line is preceded by a hash symbol.
Here is the short cut. You can comment out several lines at once by selecting them and pressing Ctrl + / (slash), On Mac - (command + / ). What does LaTeX do?
Delete all comments from a document Open a document that contains comments. Select the Review tab in the ribbon menu. Under Delete , select Delete All Comments in Document.
Go to a specific line (opens a dialog). Use Ctrl + L in the Source (Legacy) editor. Toggle commenting for selected lines. (Comment/uncomment selected text.)
Click the Review tab Delete to delete the comment that is highlighted, or click on the Delete down arrow, and click Delete or Delete All Comments in Document.
For equations longer than a line use the multline environment. Insert a double backslash to set a point for the equation to be broken. The first part will be aligned to the left and the second part will be displayed in the next line and aligned to the right.
It is often necessary to comment out temporarily a region of TeX or LaTeX code. This can be done with the commands C-c ; and C-c % . C-c ; will comment out all lines in the current region, while C-c % will comment out the current paragraph.
LaTeX/TeX do not support mid-line comments. the % character will start a comment which will end at the start of the new line. Since LaTeX/TeX allows you to have almost as many linebreaks in your source code as you want, I tend to write very short lines (at least one per sentence).
