welcome to my presentation on mandok the topic this year is becoming the main BSD manual toolbox my name is Ingo schwarer schw at openbsd org and I have been an openbsd developer for the last 6 years and while I have also contributed in a few other areas it happened that my main focus became documentation tools uh one thing thatamp;#39;s always nice for starting a talk is reminding everybody that we are usually standing on the shoulders of giants and the Pioneer in this area um is really Cynthia Livingston youamp;#39;re seeing here on this picture she designed the main documentation language we are still using today in 1989 1990 the Moc language she implemented that language herself she translated a whole cers of BSD manuals from the old man language to the new MDOC language and in the process she also rewrote all the text that was still encumbered by ATamp;amp;T copyrights so all that by by one single person uh when I talked here about mandok for four years ago when I first present
