In modern browsers, cached credentials for basic authentication are typically cleared when clearing browsing history. Most browsers allow users to specifically clear only credentials, though the option may be hard to find, and typically clears credentials for all visited sites.
Beginning in early 2023, we disabled Basic authentication for all tenants who had any type of extension. You can read more about the timing here. In Office 365 Operated by 21Vianet, we began disabling Basic authentication on March 31, 2023. All other cloud environments were subject to the October 1, 2022 date.
In Chrome On your computer, open Chrome. At the top right, click More. Delete browsing data. Choose a time range, like Last hour or All time. Select the types of information you want to remove. Click Delete data.
Manage Basic authentication in the Microsoft 365 admin center. In the Microsoft 365 admin center at , go Settings Org Settings Modern Authentication. In the Modern authentication flyout that appears, you can identify the protocols that no longer require Basic authentication.
Disable basic authentication In the Azure portal, search for and select App Services, and then select your app. In the apps left menu, select Configuration General settings. For SCM Basic Auth Publishing Credentials or FTP Basic Auth Publishing Credentials, select Off, then select Save.
On a Desktop Sign in to your Google account. Scroll down to Signing into Other Sites. Choose Signing in with Google. Choose the app or service you want to remove. Tap on Remove Access.
Open Chrome. At the top right, click More and then Settings. At the bottom, click Advanced. Under Passwords and forms, click Manage passwords. Under Saved Passwords, click Remove on the site you want to clear saved basic auth credentials.
