An Attribute is used to identify courses that meet a specific criteria.
To give a basic definition of both terms, class attributes are class variables that are inherited by every object of a class. The value of class attributes remain the same for every new object. Like you will see in the examples in this section, class attributes are defined outside the init() function.
WHAT ARE COURSE ATTRIBUTES? Course attributes are used for a few reasons: to identify if a course fits a requirement in Ladder (the degree audit), including: if a course fulfills a general education requirement (CLA) or a requirement that spans many subject areas.
Section Attributes are visible to students in Self-Service Banner to provide them with a clearer idea of the delivery method being used. Additionally, Section Attributes will be used by the Registrars Office to help determine proper room placement.
Course Attributes: These attributes pull directly from the Course Catalog (e.g., Fieldwork, ESL, Writing Intensive, etc.) Cross-listed: Same course is listed under more than one course number/dept.
