To clear the entire terminal history, you can use the history command with the -c option. This option clears the history file, removing all previously executed commands from the history. After running this command, your entire command history will be cleared.
You can set your own keyboard shortcut for it by clicking the settings cog on the right. Now Ctrl+L (or whatever you set as the shortcut) will clear the active terminal (including the Julia REPL).
To access previous commands, simply press the up arrow. This will give you the last command you typed in. Pressing it again will produce the command before that, and so on. You can also press the down arrow key to find more recent commands if you have gone too far back in the command history.
Clearing your current history is as simple as closing the Command Prompt, since, as we mentioned, only your current session is saved. You can also press Alt+F7 to clear your history without closing the Command Prompt. PowerShell, as always, is better and features many more options.
To clear the cache in Visual Studio Code, close the application, navigate to the cache directories, delete the Cache, CachedData, and CachedExtensions folders contents, and restart VS Code.
