Find and Delete Log Files Manually with Finder Open Finder. From the Menu bar, click Go Go to Finder. Type in ~/Library/Logs and click Go. You will see a list of all the log files on your Mac. After emptying the Trash, restart your Mac.
Here is how to do that: Press the Windows + E keys together to open File Explorer. Go to C:\Windows\System32\winevt or C:\Windows\System32\config. Find the Logs folder and double-click it. Find the log items you want to delete or you can press the Ctrl + A keys to select all of them.
Open Administrative Tools, and then Computer Management. In the left frame, double-click Event Viewer, and then Windows Logs. Right-click Security and choose Clear Log. You will have the option to save the details of the log.
For example, to empty a log file using the truncate command, you can run truncate -s 0 logfilename . Another method is using echo logfilename to overwrite the log file with an empty string. These commands effectively clear the log files contents while keeping the file structure intact.
Its a safe process to do so. Removing log files in Windows wont cause any harm to your software or hardware. And your personal files wont be deleted either during the process. As long as you use the right tool, you can definitely delete them safely.
How to clear the event viewer log: Open Event Viewer and select the Windows log you wish to clear. Right-click on the log and select Clear Log. Select Save and Clear. Browse to a folder where you want to save the log file to and click Save.
Right-click the application, and select Delete Log.
