In Microsoft Word, you can easily clear the formatting for selected text. For instance, you are working on a document and have applied various formatting styles to the content in your document, and none is working for you, or you want to start over. Or you have copied and paste some contents from the internet, and want to clear the formatting for the entire text. To clear the formatting from content, select the text for which you want to clear the formatting, and then click Styles dialog box button, under the Styles section. Alternatively, you can press Control + Shift + Alter + S key, to open the Styles pane. In the Styles pane, click Clear All option at the top of the list, and the style of selected text will revert to Normal. You can also clear the Formatting by, selecting the text, and then click Clear All Formatting button from Font Section of Home Tab. In Word: On the Edit menu, click Clear and then select Clear Formatting.
Method 1: Open and repair damaged Word document Step 1: On the File tab, click Open Browser. In the Open dialog box, select the corrupted file that you want to open. Step 2: Click the arrow on the Open button, and then click Open and Repair. Step 3: Confirm that repairing the document can solve the problem.
The Open and Repair command might be able to recover your file. Clean up a document Turn off Track Changes. If Track Changes is on, click the Track Changes button on the Reviewing toolbar. Accept or reject all revisions using the Accept and Reject buttons on the Reviewing toolbar. Delete all comments. Delete all ink annotations made by users making revisions using tablet PCs.
On the Home tab, click the Replace button. Alternatively, you can press Ctrl+H. Click in the Find What box and then delete any existing text or characters.
