Alcohol can dry out your stamp and damage it permanently. First, stamp the rubber stamp repeatedly on scrap paper to remove any surface ink. Apply stamp cleaner to stamp (or weak soapy water if your ink is water soluble).
*Avoid using products that contain alcohol, as well, since this may dry out the stamp. *A clean stamp can be stained. Dont scrub too hard to try to get the stains off. This will damage the rubber.

Interestingly, actually inking a rubber stamp with alcohol ink worked far easier than I expected it to. Since theyre solvent based, the inks tend to evaporate quickly and I imagined them doing that before I could finish applying the ink and stamping the image.
Rubber. Cleaning rubber with alcohol from time to time shouldnt be an issue, especially if youre attempting to work out a persistent stain. But if you make a habit of using it, it will eventually cause rubber to deteriorate. So for day-to-day maintenance, its best to stick with an alcohol-free cleaning solution.
Soap and Water or Stamp Cleaner: Most non-staining inks can be washed off using mild soapy water (a small amount of dish washing detergent mixed in water is fine). A clean toothbrush is great for washing off ink that has become embedded in nooks or crannies in your rubber stamp.
