Years ago when I first got into digital raw photography, my photo editing process was.. well, pretty much non-existent. I would open a raw image in Lightroom, I would scroll through the Develop panel, and I would move sliders left and right without really understanding what I should be doing and in what order in order to create a photograph out of the gray, dull, RAW image that I saw in front of me. After plenty of failed attempts, I realized that my process or lack thereof needed structure. A series of steps, each with its own clearly defined goal, so that anytime I would sit down to edit a photo, I would know where to start, where I was going next, and where I would ultimately finish. So today Im going to share with you my own 10 step RAW photo processing framework. It sounds rather official butits really not. These are simply the steps which work best for me and the way that I approach photo processing. By the way the focus of this video will be on the framework itself, so

Unfortunately, you can't change the focus in a single captured RAW file. The RAW file includes all of the information captured by your sensor, but the focus point is dependent upon the optics. Some cameras do allow “focus bracketing”. With that feature, your camera captures multiple images at different focus points.
When your camera compresses a RAW file into a JPEG image, it undergoes a lossy compression process. While the compression makes the file smaller, you will lose some of the data and detail from the photograph, and the image could appear grainy or pixelated.
It's because of the extended dynamic range contained within them. Dynamic range is the amount of tonal range detail in the shot. That means the detail in the darkest shadows or brightest highlights. Because the RAW photo retains much more of this detail, the images look dull, almost grey, before editing.
Sharpen photos Use the Apply Sharpening To option in the Camera Raw preferences to specify whether sharpening is applied to all images or just to previews. Note: To open preferences from within Camera Raw, click the Open Preferences Dialog button in the toolbar. Zoom the preview image to at least 100%.
How to process raw images (steps 1-6) 01 Adjust the exposure. Open your raw file. ... 02 Tweak the contrast. For a healthy range of tones from black shadows through to bright highlights, drag Blacks to 10. ... 03 Colour and detail. ... 04 Add a graduated filter. ... 05 Draw a gradient. ... 06 Selective adjustment. ... READ MORE.
It may be that you are calling dull colors and low contrast as blurry. RAW captures more information and tries to maximise the Dynamic Range in the pictures. This may lead to them looking a bit dull, less saturated/vibrant and have low contrast between high and lows.
RAW images are more flat looking since there are no post shoot enhancement made. If you shoot JPEG, camera or smartphone will do lot of processing before spitting out JPEG image. Smartphone especially do lot of processing which is often considered bit excessive.
How to brighten an image online? Open Raw.pics.io image converter and editor by pressing START. Drop image that you want to make brigher. Click Edit on the left to open Raw.pics.io editing tool. Find Brightness/Contrast in the panel of instruments on the right. Move the Brightness slider to make your photo brigher.
If you're shooting in jpeg only, or JPEG + RAW, your camera will give you a choice of color space for the JPEGs. I'd recommend using AdobeRGB there. But again, if you're shooting RAW only, then you don't need to worry about any of the color space settings in your camera, they won't have any effect.
With JPEG files, the white balance is already balanced. This is a big reason why JPEGs look more finished than their RAW counterparts straight off the camera. “A change you can make in a one-step increment in Lightroom, like white balance, you can only make in a five-step increment with JPEGs,” Morrison points out.
