An unplugged wedding is when the wedding couple asks their guests to turn off their phones, tablets, cameras, and any other digital devices during the ceremony or reception, however, mainly the ceremony. There isnt any rule for how far you can go with instituting an unplugged wedding.
Wedding RSVP Etiquette Dont add additional guests. Dont swap out +1s. Dont (attempt to) RSVP to a wedding you havent been invited to. Fill out the response card fully, if provided. Follow instructions and the hosts preferred RSVP method. Use the RSVP card, if provided. Use the provided stamped envelope.
The bride and groom kindly request an unplugged ceremony. Please turn off all devices and enjoy being fully present in this moment with us. The greatest gift you can give us today is to be truly present, so please turn off all phones and cameras and enjoy this special moment with us.
Inform your wedding officiant. Tell your officiant about your desire to have an unplugged wedding, and theyll likely be able to help! Before the ceremony, have them remind your loved ones to please keep their phones off before the ceremony begins.
At the top of your ceremony, you can ask your officiant to make a quick announcement that guests should put their phones away. A simple please put your phones away, and enjoy the ceremony! will suffice.
Include wording like, Welcome to our unplugged ceremony. We ask you to join us in being fully present by putting away all your electronic devices. You could also say, We want to see the joyful faces of the people we love! Please turn off phones and cameras until after the ceremony.
Your officiant can say something like: The bride and groom kindly request an unplugged ceremony. Please turn off all devices and enjoy being fully present in the moment.
