To turn formatting marks on or off, do the following: In the message window, on the Format Text tab, in the Paragraph group, click the button that looks like a paragraph mark. (When you point your mouse at the button, the tooltip says Show/Hide ). Keyboard shortcut CTRL+SHIFT+*.
A quick way to find section breaks is to show these breaks in the document. Go to the Home tab and, in the Paragraph group, select Show/Hide. All section breaks become visible in the document. Place the cursor to the left of break you want to remove, then press Delete. Select Show/Hide to hide the section breaks.
Turn the display of formatting marks on or off Go to Word Preferences View.
