Hello, this is Cristi. Today, I want to show you a cool trick in Microsoft Word on cleaning up your text that you bring from external sources and itamp;#39;s broken down into weird lines and paragraphs, and it doesnamp;#39;t keep sentences together. So this is typically happening when you bring texts in from for example, audio transcripts or YouTube or video transcripts. Let me show you an example here. This text is in Notepad and it is a transcript of a video. And, you know, when you save that as a text from like a YouTube or some other transcription tool, it could be like this with line breaks where they shouldnamp;#39;t be line breaks because thatamp;#39;s when the timestamp tells the video that itamp;#39;s a new phrase, so then the transcription software breaks it down like this into different paragraphs. But actually if you look at this, this is actually a single sentence. So it should be really up here instead of down there like that. So when you

If youre dealing with unwanted paragraph symbols, heres what to do: Click the Home tab in the toolbar. Find the Paragraph section. Click the small arrow icon to expand the menu. Deselect Show/Hide or Show Formatting. The paragraph symbols should now be hidden.
Cleaning the Rest Make the text lowercase. As you probably know, python is case-sensitive where A != Remove line breaks. Again, depending on your source, you might have encoded line breaks. Remove punctuation. Remove stop words using the NLTK library. Removing numbers. Stemming or Lemmatization.
Clear formatting from text Select the text that you want to return to its default formatting. In Word: On the Edit menu, click Clear and then select Clear Formatting. In PowerPoint: On the Home tab, in the Font group, click Clear All Formatting .
Find the Display option from the list on the left-hand side of the pop-up windows screen. Look at the Always show these formatting marks on the screen, section, the second one down. Notice the checkbox next to the paragraph symbol labeled Paragraph marks. Unselect the box to turn off the paragraph marks.
Right-click on the paragraph with the line and select Paragraph from the menu. Go to the Borders tab and make sure no border is selected.
Highlight the content you want to copy and click Ctrl+C (for PC) or Command+C (for Mac). Use Ctrl+Shift+V (for PC) or Options+Shift+Command+V (for Mac) to paste the copied text without styles into your template.
To remove character formatting from selected text, press Ctrl + spacebar. To remove paragraph formatting from selected text, press Ctrl + Q.
Try it! Select the text with the formatting you want to clear. Select Home Clear All Formatting. or press Ctrl + Spacebar.
