How to make a good logo Explore conceptual icons. Use the space you have. Play around with caps or lowercase. Consider handwritten fonts. Balance your tagline. Adjust your name and tagline. Let your logo breathe. Ensure readability.
Logo clearspace and margins This is where clearspace and margins come in to play. For example: if you were to place the Medium logo, sized 30px tall, in a logo pool next to other logos, you should ensure that the Medium logo has at least 30px of clearspace on all sides.
To set the area of clear space around your logo, measure exactly one X indicator unit from the farthest vertical and horizontal points of your logo. In our example, the furthest point on the left and to the bottom of our logo is the edge of the blue circle.
This is called clearspace. It is important to follow clearspace require- ments. The minimum spacing requirement is 0.25 inches and should always be used when placing the primary or sub-brand logos into a printed design. In printed materials, the logo should be at least 0.25 inches in height.
