hello everyone welcome to my channel in this video iamp;#39;m going to be talking about elasticsearch index lifecycle management also known as ilm and show you my lab setup and the ilm policy that i have and show you the options that they can set and weamp;#39;ll talk about a little bit about the data tiers and how indexes travel through the desert ears so here on the whiteboard this is my cluster setup i have three nodes of elasticsearch iamp;#39;m ingesting the firewall assist logs uh they go to an ingestion vm using filebeat and then logs get parsed and then indexed into last search and i view everything in kibana but with the data management in elasticsearch we are going to be since i have time series data that grows over time i have a firewall i have the firewall logs coming into elasticsearch i need some mechanism to tell the data how long it stays in my cluster and how big it can get and i just need a mechanism or a policy which is the ilm to manage automatically what happens
