hey guys whatamp;#39;s going on iamp;#39;m going to show you guys something that i deal with with these ceramic coated headers all the time one of the things that happens is you know look it they start getting garbage all over them oil you know whatever you can think of and then what happens is they start looking terrible they look like garbage and a lot of people use easy off oven cleaner and you gotta run to the store you gotta go buy it a lot of people use baking soda and thereamp;#39;s all kinds of other things but the one thing that i use that seems to be the most efficient you know you know these little tub of towel things you know the orange ones you know if you take these things right here and theyamp;#39;re real nice they actually soak up a lot of dirt and then iamp;#39;m gonna show you so iamp;#39;m gonna take a spot here right you start rubbing on this and it starts to come right off look at see look is that nice that look i got a spot here is a little more heavier you

Why is my EGT gauge not working properly?

The most common causes of an Exhaust Temperature gauge not working is wiring or incorrect installation. If your gauge is erractically jumping around or measuring maximum temperature this is most often the cause of a damaged sensor.

How do I know if my EGT probe is bad?

A quick way to check the EGT probe is to disconnect it from whatever device you are using to read it put an ohm meter across both output wires (the wire colors are usually red yellow). If you get an open reading then the probe is probably bad. If you get somewhere between 3 to 12 ohms then it may still be okay.

How deep should EGT probe be installed?

The depth will depend on the type of induction youre running in naturally aspirated engines the probe needs to sit in the centre of the pipe while in engines with forced induction the probe will be no more than 6mm into the pipe, so much shallower than in N/A engines.

How to tighten an EGT probe?

Once you tighten the fitting to where it is snug, just simply turn a quarter more! Be sure not to go too tight. If you tighten the EGT ferrule too tight it could damage the EGT probe and cause inaccurate readings.

Can a EGT sensor be cleaned?

Inspect the sensor for any build-up of contaminants and clean with a clean, dry cloth as required.
