When cleaning acrylic, its best to use mild soap and water or a product designed for cleaning plastics. Regular glass cleaner is not recommended. Paper towels also can be a little abrasive, so we prefer a soft cotton or micro-fiber cloth.
For smooth wood frames, a microfiber cloth and a little furniture polish will work. If the frame is porous or especially dirty, use a microfiber cloth and a solution of water and wood-cleaning product. Follow the directions on the bottle. Plastic picture frames are hard, non-porous surfaces.
Since ammonia-based glass cleaners (like regular Windex) can damage these coatings, play it safe and clean all glass fronts as if they were coated. Remove the artwork from the wall and place it on a flat surface to clean. Lightly spray a ammonia-free glass cleaner on a microfiber cloth (regular or made-for-glass).

Wipe the dust and dirt away with a clean, soft microfibre cloth. Using a dry toothbrush, gently scrub away the dirt which is located within the crevices of the moulding. Wipe away the dislodged dirt using the cloth. If there is any dirt left, take a cotton bud and apply this to the hard to docHub places.
Wooden frames with stubborn stains can benefit from a solution of mild dish soap mixed with water. Apply the solution to a cloth and gently rub the stained area, taking care not to damage the frames finish. For metallic frames with tarnish, use a suitable metal polish, like silver polish, on a cloth or soft towel.
Wipe dust and dirt off with a clean, soft cloth. Using a dry toothbrush, gently scrub the frame to get into the crevices. Wipe the frame with a fresh clean cloth again to get rid of any debris loosened by the scrubbing. If there are still crevices that the toothbrush didnt docHub, use cotton buds.
