Whether itamp;#39;s the result of getting data from online or typing errors, there are many reasons why cells in Excel can end up with extra spaces in them. And these can make the sheet look messy and keep you from correctly using some of Excelamp;#39;s tools and features. So letamp;#39;s go over three ways that you can clean up extra spaces in Excel. In the first example, we have a list of email addresses with extra spaces both before and after the address. The TRIM function is perfect for this. Its job is to remove any spaces from the beginning and end of a cell. So we can type =TRIM and reference the cell that we want to clean up and press Enter. And then you can either use copy and paste to copy it down or double-click on this little bitty square here to auto fill to the other cells. How to conditionally suppress fields in Crystal Reports Right-click the field and select Format Field. Click X+2 next to Suppress. Enter the formula criteria to suppress (No IF-THEN statement is required) ex., {ADDRESSFIELD}Chicago
To do that: Click a cell in the array formula. On the Home tab, in the Editing group, click Find Select, and then click Go To. Click Special. Click Current array. Press DELETE.
To use a formula in report: Create a new formula. Open the Field Explorer (Crystal XI: View Field Explorer; Crystal 8.5: Insert Field Object) Right-click on Formula Fields. Select New. Enter a name for the formula. Click OK. Use the Formula Editor to write the formula.
If we want to delete the parameter field, go to Field Explorer - Right click on Parameter Name - Delete. We can create a Dynamic Parameter to retrieve the data from the data source. For using Dynamic Parameter, first go to Field Explorer - Right click on Parameter - New.
Answer: Right-click on the section name on the left and select Section Expert (or go to Report Section Expert and select the section on the left) Click the X+2 button across from Suppress (No Drill-Down) Enter the condition for when the section should be suppressed. Click Save and Close on the formula window.
To delete a formula field, go to the Field Explorer panel. Select the formula field, right click, then select Delete. You will then see a message that lets you know that if you delete the field, it will also be removed from your report. If you still want to delete the formula field, click Yes.
Press Ctrl + C (Windows) or Cmd + C (Mac) to copy the displayed value in the cell. Then, use Ctrl + Shift + V (Windows) or Cmd + Shift + V (Mac) to paste the value back into the cell without its formula. This effectively removes the formula but keeps the value.
How to remove decimals from a number field or formula in Crystal Reports Right-click on the field or formula. Select Format Field. On the Number tab, choose the format to use from the list or click Customize to create a custom format. Click OK.
