hey all and welcome to tech fact friday today weamp;#39;re going to be looking at one of the most basic but fundamental building blocks for every computer and computing system weamp;#39;re talking about binary code specifically binary numbers you know the alterations of zeros and ones arranged in differing order to transmit information however long before even the most rudimentary computers existed like the one charles babbage came up with binary language existed in several different forms across the ages and civilizations but before we get into the history letamp;#39;s make sure we all understand what binary language is when talking about binary numbers and computing terms weamp;#39;re speaking of zeros and ones but in terms of binary language in general it can be any two opposite things after all the prefix of the word by means two a switch in the on and off position represents what could be the basis of a binary language arranged in an infinite number of ways flipping a

One of the advantages of binary files is that they are more efficient. In terms of memory, storing values using numeric formats such as IEEE 754, rather than as text characters, tends to use less memory. In addition, binary formats also offer advantages in terms of speed of access.
If the last digit of a binary number is 1, the number is odd; if its 0, the number is even. Ex: 1101 represents an odd number (13); 10010 represents an even number (18).
Higher base encoding takes up lesser space to represent the same data eg. A (one digit) in hex (base 16 encoding) takes up less space than 10 (decimal/base 10 system); both represent the same value, ergo binary files (base 256 encoding) take up less space than text files containing the same information.
Binary: these files generate lower system overhead, as well as generally occupying less space on the disk, depending on the type of information being logged. You must, however, use a converter application before you can read or analyze these files using standard tools.
After opening the binary file in binary mode, we can use the read() method to read its content into a variable. The read() method will return a sequence of bytes, which represents the binary data. Once we have read the binary data into a variable, we can process it ing to our specific requirements.
Binary files tend to be smaller and faster to interpret than text files.
Hexadecimal definitely takes less space than binary since you need four binary digits per one hexadecimal digit. But hexadecimal takes more space than base64, since base64 fits 6 bits of information per character instead of just 4 bits for hexadecimal.
