hello world i find that most people who visit japan comment on how clean it is this used to surprise me i always see garbage on the streets but yeah i guess its decently clean why is that especially when its kind of hard to find a garbage can you can easily find can and bottle recycling near vending machines but a straight-up garbage can out in the wild it can be difficult to come by and yet there is very little litter on the streets well there used to be many more garbage cans but following the tokyo subway sarin attack by a cult in 1995 they were removed as a security measure since then few of the removed garbage cans have returned to public spaces like sidewalks washrooms and parks it turns out that instead of garbage flowing through the streets people just brought the garbage home with them nowadays your best bet to find a place to dispose of waste outside of home is at convenience stores which you can find over 50 000 of them in japan and so that i dont have the internet polic

Under these rules, drivers are allowed to park on many of New York's streets free of charge, except during marked hours when a sanitation truck drives through to clear debris with a mechanical broom. Each side of a street has different cleaning hours, so that cars can move from one side to the other.
“The main purpose is to keep the streets safe, pick up the nails, the loose gravel, glass, metal, dirt, sand, etc.,” explained Street Foreman Chris Hess about the street sweeper. “It picks up small debris to keep the roads clear and usable.”
The ASP signs are posted on all concerned streets with the scheduled street sweeping times. It is the driver's responsibility to ensure their vehicles are on the correct side of the street. If they violate this rule, the cars could be towed or fined.
Definitions of street sweeper. a worker employed to clean streets (especially one employed by a municipal sanitation department) synonyms: street cleaner. type of: cleaner. someone whose occupation is cleaning.
Street sweeping not only makes the streets cleaner, it is an important part of storm water pollution prevention. It prevents unwanted materials from flowing into the storm drains and polluting our bays and causing backups and flooding. It also keeps job sites clean and safe and helps to minimize tire damage.
Street Sweeping means the sweeping and collection of Solid Waste from public streets, parks and other public areas and cleaning of surface drains/ trenches abutting public streets and related activities.
Road sweepers are widely used for keeping public roads, site roads, runways and other accesses clean and for suppressing dust. They use water as a means of capturing dirt and dust and are intended to clean up surfaces used by vehicles.
Sweeping your streets isn't just for appearance reasons. When dirt and debris build up in your streets, gutters and curbs, there's a risk to the general public: Sewers and drains blocked by leaves, garbage and other dirt can pose a flood risk. Standing water and dirt is a breeding ground for insects, mold and bacteria.
Street sweepers will occasionally go around the block twice. It is common in the fall when leaves are likely to clog the brushes. You would still be at risk of getting a street cleaning NYC ticket.
For more than two decades, the New York City Department of Small Business Services (SBS) has worked with BIDs and LDCs throughout the five boroughs to address sanitation and other issues in an effort to create healthy and vibrant commercial districts.
