Warm soapy water should work, but you could also try white vinegar or nail varnish remover. Cover the sticky residue. Leave it for a few minutes, to give the solution time to soak into the adhesive. Wipe the area with the cloth.
Hand sanitizer is not just for cleaning your hands - it can also be an effective solution for removing label and sticker residue. Hand sanitizer is safe to use on most surfaces, including wood, metal, and glass. Its high alcohol content helps break down the adhesive and dissolve the residue.
Soak the unwanted sticker in warm vinegar using your sponge or rag. Let it sit for about 5 minutes. The sticker should peel and soften so you can remove it with your fingers.

If, after youve removed the sticker, youre left with a sticky adhesive residue, the best way to remove it is using an eraser. Its a gentle method that can push the residue off the book without tearing the paper. Opt for a soft and less-abrasive eraser, like a white or art eraser.
Use 90% rubbing alcohol. To remove stubborn adhesive residue, dip a corner of the microfiber cloth in rubbing alcohol. Use tight, circular motions to scrub off the sticker goo. If you dont have rubbing alcohol, use a 1-to-1 mixture of white vinegar and warm water. Vodka would work well in a pinch, too!
