Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy Mike Stevens conducted a uniform inspection of the U.S. Navy Ceremonial Guard in Washington, D.C., reflecting on his experiences from twenty years ago as a young division chief. He expressed confidence in the standards upheld by Chief Petty Officers and First Class Petty Officers throughout the Navy. The tradition of maintaining high standards remains strong. During the inspection, Stevens awarded certificates and coins to members of the Ceremonial Guard who passed without discrepancies, with no failures and fifteen sailors receiving perfect marks. MCPON aims to establish this inspection as an annual event to continue promoting excellence in the Navy.
