I split time now between the Department of Population Health Sciences at the University of Utah and the VA Informatics and Computing Infrastructure, both of which are based in Salt Lake City, Utah. Through a contract, I also support the Defense Health Agency Research and Engineering Directorate. My talk today is titled Electronic Health Record Repositories, Benefits and Challenges of Data Standardization and Rehabilitation. As such, I want to talk briefly about the history and promise of electronic health records. I want to talk also about the emergence of EHR repositories, efforts to standardize the stru
